Casino On Internet

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Online gambling has proven to be very popular amongst both the gambling elite and the masses and hence is proving to be big business for the online casino companies. This big business means that the competition between the casinos is high and they are constantly competing with each other in a bid to win the affection and loyalty of the customer. Choosing the best online casino gambling is important if a player wants to make the most of their gambling experience and the great aspect of gambling online is that one is able to visit a variety of casinos with ease before making a decision as to where one wishes to play.

The abundance of online casinos means that whatever games a player may be wishing to play, their choice will likely be available – not only their choice of game but even the particular version of that game. From “Texas Holdem” poker to “Seven Card Stud” poker to keno to roulette to the slots, the choices can be overwhelming.

To help the player to choose a casino to gamble in, a host of sites have dedicated themselves to providing the player with resources such as articles to read on individual online casinos, as well as the latest odds and bonus offers available. It is worth keeping in mind that these sites may well be receiving a commission from the casinos that they are recommending to people.

One thing that is important for a player when gambling online may be peace of mind. Knowing that one is gambling in a secure environment can influence one’s enjoyment of the experience. There are many potential hazards to online gambling, although a good casino will take steps to help ensure that these are not a concern. The nature of playing games online means that players may be able to collude with each other either via instant messenger or on the phone when playing a game such as poker, for example. However, the online casino should have anti-collusion software that keeps a record of each hand played and is specifically designed to prevent collusion between players. It may also be worth checking out whether the casino is audited by a reputable accounting company such as “Price Waterhouse Coopers” - it all adds to the store for extra peace of mind when gambling online and handing credit card details or dealing with the transfer of funds over the internet.

Many casinos may offer their customers the option of playing the games for free. This means that if a player experiences any of the intimidation or potentially overwhelming atmosphere when gambling in a land based casino, by playing for free online, they are able to gain both the experience and hence the confidence to play with real money when they are ready and possibly avoid what would otherwise be costly mistakes. Practising for free is also a good way to develop a strategy and strategies could potentially raise the odds of the player winning against those of the house. However, no matter how much practise one has, the realities of losing in an online casino are just as real as losing in a land based casino and the dangers are just as prevalent. It is luck or lack thereof that will likely have the final say.

Bingo Pattern Variation

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

The following bingo game patterns are examples of some of the most popular ones. There are lots of possible bingo game patterns that can be played. There are bingo cards that have the pattern already marked/highlighted, and have three basic designations:

  • Static or standard bingo patterns. These bingo patterns cannot be moved or shifted on the Bingo card and are won only when every square of the pattern that is marked/highlighted on the card is covered.
  • Crazy bingo patterns. These bingo cards allow the pattern to be rotated in 90 degree increments for a winning bingo pattern match (by 90°, 180° or 270°).
  • Wild bingo patterns. These bingo cards have scattered patterns. The bingo pattern stays in the same place (static) but can be located anywhere on the card.

How To Play Bingo Online

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Check out this online bingo article on how to play bingo. Playing Bingo (and online bingo) is easy once you know the rules. While bingo hall and online bingo rules do vary slightly in format, the essence of the game remains the same.

There are 75 possible BINGO numbers with each number represented by a colored ball in a large rotating bin. Each ball is painted with a unique BINGO number. An announcer spins the bin, reaches in, selects a ball, and announces it to the room. The players check their cards to see if the called number appears on the card. If it is, they mark it. When a player has a BINGO, he or she calls out BINGO.

The game pauses while the win is verified. If there was a valid win, the game stops and a new game begins. If the card wasn`t a winner, the game proceeds where it left off. Each BINGO game proceeds until someone wins. Every BINGO game has a winning card, so a player`s chances of winning depend on the number of cards in the game and how many cards s/he is playing.

Online bingo games have a caller and/or display board for the bingo numbers. The game pattern is also displayed. Some games automatically mark the numbers on your card for you which allow online bingo players to purchase a larger amount of cards since it is easier to keep track of all the numbers called. When playing online bingo, your bingo cards are randomly selected for you and there are a maximum number of cards you can play during each game. The maximum cards allowed vary on each online bingo site.

Bingo Cards

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Bingo cards are used to play various bingo games, including U.S. style bingo and UK style Housie. Cards are usually made of cardboard or non-reusable paper, but more and more bingo halls are beginning to use computerized cards. Bingo cards are printed in various styles (see below) with randomized bingo numbers. As bingo numbers are called, players either check off the boxes with a pen or marker, or use a bingo daber/dauber to stamp the box.

U.S. bingo cards

U.S. bingo cards are 5x5 squares, with the columns labeled B-I-N-G-O and with spots contains numbers between 1 and 75. The center square typically is a free spot, and often has the word "free" printed on it.

  • Column B contains numbers 1-15
  • Column I contains numbers 16 - 30
  • Column N contains numbers 31 - 45
  • Column G contains numbers 46 - 60
  • Column O contains numbers 61 - 75
  • There are 16,396,380 different combinations of numbers available, so far the most anyone has made is 9000.

UK Bingo Cards

UK Bingo, or Housie, cards are usually called tickets and differ greatly from U.S. Bingo cards. The cards contain three rows and nine columns. Each row contains five numbers and four blank spaces. Each column contains one, two or three numbers.

  • Column 1 contains numbers 1 - 9
  • Column 2 contains numbers 10 - 19
  • Column 3 contains numbers 20 - 29
  • Column 4 contains numbers 30 - 39
  • Column 5 contains numbers 40 - 49
  • Column 6 contains numbers 50 - 59
  • Column 7 contains numbers 60 - 69
  • Column 8 contains numbers 70 - 79
  • Column 9 contains numbers 80 - 90

Other Types of Cards

  • Flimsies
  • Break Open

Flimsies

Flimsies are a type of bingo cards printed on thin sheets of paper. They are typically printed with three cards on a single sheet, but also come in other formats:

  • One card per sheet
  • Two cards per sheet
  • Four cards per sheet
  • Six cards per sheet
  • Nine cards per sheet

Flimsies costs $1-$2 per sheet and a win on a flimsy on a "special" game usually pays quite a bit more than a win on a "regular" game.

Bingo History

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Bingo originated in Italy around the 16th century. The game arose as a result of the Italian lottery, Lo Giuoco del Lotto d`Italia. The Italian national lottery commenced during the unification of Italy in 1530 and still continues to this day. It is estimated that the Italian lottery brings in $75 million a year and is a very important part of the Italian Government`s budget.

Eventually, the game of Bingo became well known in France. In 1778 the French had established their own lottery called Le Lotto, which led to the progress of the traditional game of the lottery. The game of Bingo consists of cards divided into three horizontal and roughly nine vertical rows. The three horizontal rows have five numbered squares and four clear squares which have been arranged at random. The vertical numbers are numbered from 1 to 90, assembled on the separate rows of each card. The cards are all exclusive. There are also certain chips numbered from 1 to 90. Each player receives one or more cards, then an announcer will all out a number. If the number appears on the player’s card, then they cover it. Once the player covers all numbers in a horizontal row, he/she declares “BINGO” and therefore becomes the winner.

Lotto games were largely used as educational purposes during the 17th century. In 1850 Germany designed a certain lotto game that taught children multiplication tables. These games were known as Animal Lotto, Spelling Lotto and Historical Lotto.

The rise of the game, Beano occurred in Germany in 1929. This was different to the classic Lotto. An announcer would call out a number inscribed on a wooden disc from a box. A bean would then be placed on the number called. Once a player covered a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row, they would shout "Beano" and claim the prize. Ed Lowe, a New York toy salesman, discovered the game at a fair in Germany, eventually introduced the game to America.

Ed however changed the game slightly. He invited friends to play “Beano” at his apartment. After a woman shouted "Bingo" instead of "Beano", he renamed the game and it led it to immediate success. There were many imitators after the release of Bingo. Lowe saw this as an opportunity and asked competitors to pay him a dollar a year to rename their imitations.

Later on, a priest originating from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania experienced financial problems and decided to use bingo as a form of fundraising. The priest purchased many of Lowe`s bingo games, but found it frustrating when there were numerous winners. This problem could only be solved if there were more combinations of numbers. Lowe then asked a Columbian university mathematics professor, Carl Leffler, to work out more combinations for the game. He successfully created 6000 new bingo cards without repetition. After much difficulty the task was completed and the professor was paid $100 per card.

The large success of the priest`s fund-raiser led to the publishing of “Bingo`s Instructional Manual” and later on, a monthly newsletter known as Blotter. At the moment entire floors of New York office space are trying to keep up with the rising demand. This thanks to Ed Lowe, who introduced Bingo to America and the rest of the world.

Free Bingo Games

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Bingo is often considered to be the tamer of the gambling games. Its being popular with elderly ladies and gentlemen playing with their friends in local community halls may have set its reputation as one of the more civil and acceptable games in terms of social decorum. The internet has done little to tarnish this reputation and has rather exemplified it in the creation of sites devoted to bingo games.

Whereas an online casino is likely to provide players with any game they are after from poker to the slot machines, bingo tends to enjoy the spotlight of individual promotions that specialise in the game.

Despite its tame reputation, it is still big business for the online casino and online bingo promotions. The bingo promotions try very much to secure the fun and community spirit of its players by offering them incentives and loyalty schemes to make the experience more than just one of gambling. Free Bingo Games are offered for those who have earned enough points as well as free bingo cards to play rounds with. Whilst the rules may vary slightly between the bingo sites, the general rules of filling the card with the appropriate pattern or totally covering it as a way of winning the jackpots are the same as traditional bingo. In fact, the online bingo companies try very much to replicate as much as possible the bingo hall experience by providing the players with social events and opportunities to chat.

Being able to play bingo with someone on the other side of the world on any particular day is quite a novel experience, even by today`s standards and communicating with them is even more exciting. These aspects of the bingo promotions are free and many people come to play just for the fun of it as opposed to solely seeking monetary rewards. The trials and tribulations of the day may be discussed as well as the plans for the evening. It is interesting to note that the majority of bingo players tend to be women and of those a high proportion are single. The support of the community itself can be quite attractive to those who find they share things in common and can have fun at the same time, whilst playing bingo.

Free bonuses and being able to choose which card or cards you wish to purchase make the experience of online bingo gaming even more appealing. Usually there is a brief time to wait for the games to download before play may begin but apart from that, the process of joining and opening an account with an online bingo promotion is relatively straightforward. Www. Thinkbingo.co.uk is an excellent example of the relative ease that is experienced when one wishes to play bingo online. The amount of money required to purchase the cards is low compared with other gambling games and the potential jackpots can be high, depending on how many people are playing.

Free bingo games and bingo gaming in general are an excellent way to experience the joys of the game and the joys of socialising online at one and the same time.

Bingo Number Tracking

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

The bingo number tracking methodology is a bingo strategy that is similar to shuffle tracking and card counting in other casino games. The purpose of bingo number tracking is to determine which bingo numbers are more likely to be drawn. Instead of advocating this bingo methodology Bingo`d rather criticize it so that new bingo players won`t fall for.

Bingo number tracking is simply recording the bingo numbers across a number of bingo rounds. The idea is that numbers that haven`t been called are more likely to come up because they are "due".

There are bingo players who swear by this method and rely on it unconditionally, but these players run afoul of high school mathematics. It is certainly their right, but Bingo`d like to explain to bingo patrons two things that are generally ignored by those who follow the bingo number tracking bible.

First, real life bingo probabilities can not be derived from just a small number of game rounds. The factor that is called "sample size" in statistics is the reflection of law of large numbers in bingo. In simple words, results collected over a small number of games are inconclusive and don`t have any more statistical credibility than assigning random probabilities to bingo numbers. A fair assesment of bingo probabilities would require a fair amount of games, which brings us to the second point.

Bingo number tracking would lose any and all sense if the bingo numbers weren`t drawn in a truly random fashion. But they are! What would be a possible reason for a bingo game to favour certain bingo numbers over others in the long term?

Mathematically speaking, there`s no such reason and there can`t be one other than physical bias in the drawing system: size of the balls, defects of the wheel and anything else that might theoretically give certain numbers an advantage.

While this theory is feasible with very long bingo games as it would accumulate sufficient advantage to the bingo player, reality is that a game this long will simply never occur to the player; moreover, for the bingo number tracking to be valid one needs to play within the same parlour, and with the same drawing system.

Even the bingo dealer - the caller - must stay the same. Any change in the bingo system would cancel the statistical validity of this bingo system.

Indeed, bingo number tracking is useless in online bingo games, because online casino RNGs (random number generators) are fool-proof algorithms that produce fair distribution of random numbers or, in other words, have no flaws that bingo tracking can possibly exploit.

Bingo discourage the players from buying into deceit of the bingo tracking for online casino bingo games: it simply doesn`t work. Your luck combined with your assesment of bingo odds is a factor that is certainly more important than amateur methods of bingo magic that don`t withstand the scrutiny of simple science.

Bingo Rules

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Bingo has been an extremely popular form of gambling for many years and decades. Betting on the famous bingo card reached its peak in the UK in the 1970s and then after a slight dip in popularity, it is now experiencing a mini renaissance.

Online gambling has heralded the introduction of the online bingo casino. Sites devoted to what has often been seen as one of the “lighter” gambling games, offer the clients a world of online bingo along with special competitions, games and a unique social atmosphere.

Rules of Bingo

  • Players wishing to play for real money must be over the age of 18.
  • Only one account is allowed per player. Any player found in violation of this rule may have all their accounts terminated.
  • Color code, production number, and series number of the cards to be used in a particular game are announced before the start of each game. All Players are advised to check these items for validity of the cards. Only valid cards for a particular game shall be played and may win a prize.
  • Cards must be permanently marked to show the winning bingo pattern. Numbers in the marked patterns must remain clearly readable. Unmarked cards will not be verified or validated.
  • The winning bingo card must be declared on the last ball called out and/or shown on the video screen. A bingo card without the last number called out and/or shown on the video screen is rendered invalid. (Sleeper Rule)
  • Possible winning cards must be presented to the verifier for validation. A card will have to be verified before being declared a good bingo. Players are advised to discard their cards only after a good bingo has been declared.
  • The prize shall be divided equally when there are more than one winner. However, upon agreement, the winners shall have the option of throwing dice or drawing lots to determine who wins the prize.

Why Play Bingo

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Traditional Bingo has been a popular pastime for many years throughout the world. It`s a great meeting place for friends and family and a great place to meet new people in such a relaxed atmosphere. It`s no surprise that there are over 60 million bingo players worldwide.
The average bingo player is predominately female, aged 30-60, and is located in North America. Avid bingo players stick to their routines, such as playing bingo on certain nights of the week, each and every week. Playing bingo becomes part of their routine, part of their way of life. They start to form a friendship with the players around them and players will easily notice if a regular is not there. Most bingo players even have a lucky seat. Traditional bingo halls can however be a tad smoky, it`s sometimes difficult to manage multiple bingo cards, and some players struggle to get to the bingo halls or they simply do not have the time, especially for stay at home moms.

Wait, now there`s a new form of bingo, an evolution in the bingo generation. Its bingo on the internet, online bingo! You may ask yourself, how can playing bingo online give the same satisfaction as playing bingo with family and fiends in a traditional bingo hall? Why should I change my lifestyle?

The fact of the matter is that Online Bingo has its own set of unique advantages. In a recent survey done by a popular online bingo portal, the number one reason for playing online bingo, was ``meeting new people``.

Playing online bingo tears down borders and allows you to play online bingo live against other players around the world. You heard me correctly; online bingo is multi player, one game with players from all over the world. Each site has Multi Chat which is accompanied by a Chat Host also known as a CM. It`s the job of the Chat Host to recreate the atmosphere of the bingo hall and to help with support. Multi chat also allows you to meet new friends and to share to excitement in real-time, such as when you have 1 number to go, you will see the acronym ``1TG``, which is one to go!

You wanted to socialize with your friends, there you go, hundreds of new friends at the press of a button. Hours of chatting, hours of fun! Online Bingo is attracting males and females, young and old.

There are many advantages to playing online bingo. What if your local bingo hall is not near you house? What if the weather outside is terrible? What if you are not feeling like getting dressed and driving all the way to the smoke filled bingo hall? What if you are disabled and find it difficult to move around? What if you are simply too exhausted from the days work? The answer to all your questions is online bingo.

Online Bingo sites have colorful graphics and entertaining sound effects. The new generation of online bingo site allows you to play bingo instantly without downloading a thing. When you sit down at your computer watching the screen; you are transformed into a world of bingo.

Due to improved technology you can play as many cards as you want Your bingo cards are filled in automatically , so you don`t need to worry about completing your cards and worry if you missed out a couple of calls. You can also increase your odds of winning with more cards. And if you have the lucky card, your account is credited automatically.

Simply put, online bingo games industries have really done a great job on giving the online players a bingo hall atmosphere. And for the best part, its always open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can enjoy the game in the convenience of your own home.

It was found that during the Super Bowl, online bingo sites have a massive increase in traffic. That`s right; you can play whenever you want and you don`t have to sit around while your husband relaxes in front of the TV watching sports.

Online bingo can never replace your local bingo hall, but both online and offline bingo seems to have their own set of unique advantages.

75 Ball Bingo

75 Ball Bingo is the Bingo game played in United States of American and Canada. Generally, the 75 Ball Bingo is similar to 90 number Bingo. One buys tickets or bingo cards with predetermined numbers. A bingo pattern for each game is displayed.

Generally, each game will be offered with a different winning pattern to add more excitement to the game. Some patterns may consist of just 4 dots in the corners, or sometimes, there could only be a line dynamically varying from left most columns to lowest bottom horizontal row. In some cases, the whole card may be shaded as the offered pattern, in this case, a Coverall. The bingo winner will be someone who has all the squares in any of his/her 5 x 5 bingo cards shaded (daubed) the same as the displayed pattern. There is a maximum of 75 numbers only, thus 75 Ball bingo.

Generally, the 75 ball online bingo card patterns will come from four categories:

(1) Various Patterns
(2) Multi-Combination Patterns
(3) Alphabet
(4) Numbers

90 Ball Bingo

90-Ball Bingo is the bingo game traditionally played in the United Kingdom and Australia. The game is similar to 75-Bingo, where players purchase Cards/Tickets, then mark the numbers that are called and hope to be the first player who correctly completes the winning pattern. Although the basic foundations of the two games are the same there are many differences. In the 90-Ball Bingo cards have three rows and nine columns. Five squares in each row contain numbers ranging from 1 to 90 and the rest are blank. The winning patterns are always the same and there are usually three patterns in each game. Each game has three patterns and each of the three patterns has a prize associated with it. The patterns include Single Line Across (Line), Two Lines Across (Two Lines), and Full House. The first player to correctly cross off a horizontal a Line; then Two Lines and finally for crossing off all the numbers on a Ticket (Full House), would win the corresponding prize for that pattern.
Ticket

There are three prizes awarded during each game, starting with a Single Line Across (a line), Two Lines and a Full House, where the player wins the jackpot. The numbers are randomly called on the Bingo Call Board and the first player to correctly cross off a line, two lines or a full house wins the corresponding prize. However, should more than one player call at the same time, the prize is shared.

Traditional Bingo

Traditional bingo is the form of the game that is most commonly played. This is the game that is found throughout the country in church basements or in bingo halls. The game is fairly easy to pick up and can be intense and rewarding. The rules are as follows.

Players generally meet at the location, pay a fee and enter. Once the players have arrived the games begin. Multiple games take place throughout the night. Players generally receive bingo cards. They can normally play as many as they want. Each card costs a certain amount of money. Each bingo card has five rows and five columns, making for 25 spaces in total.

Each night when the game is played is called a session. One session can include up to 30 games played within eight hours. Up to four sessions can be held within a seven day period by permit holders. This is the limit for halls and clubs where bingo is played. If more games are played, the venue becomes a bingo center and rules and regulations change. People who want to hold bingo games can get minor permits which remain valid for up to two years.

Each of the numbers that could possibly appear on a card is painted on a ball and all of the balls are placed in a large rotating bin. The caller spins the container, reaches in, selects a ball and announces it to the room. The players check all of their cards to see if that number is listed. If it is they mark it.

When a player covers five numbers in a diagonal, horizontal or vertical row, he or she shouts “bingo!” The game pauses while someone verifies the winner’s card. If the person has actually won the game stops and a new one begins. If the player hasn’t won the game restarts where it stopped and continues until someone wins. Every bingo game has a winning card, and the player’s chance of winning depends on the number of cards in the game and on how many cards he or she is playing with.

Combination Bingo

A combination Bingo and Poker game is described. The game uses a game board (10) containing a matrix of Bingo places (16). The Bingo places each have a Bingo number (26) and playing card indicia (28). The game is played similarly to standard Bingo with the players marking the places on the game board as the numbers are selected by the host entity (12A). A player has a winning BINGO when the marked places form a winning Bingo configuration. The playing card indicia of the places of the winning Bingo configuration are then used to form a potentially winning Poker hand.

Pre-called Bingo

When more than one bingo games are played the game is called combination bingo game. Like if the first prize is four corners, once the winner is announced the next may be the outside square which may be followed by a blackout.

As each new card pattern emerges, the pattern will have a number defining the amount of calls needed to claim the bingo Jackpot. Bingo Online

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

The game of bingo has its roots firmly planted in seventeenth and eighteenth century Italian history, as a weekly lottery played even nowadays every Saturday called Lo Giuoco del Lotto D`Italia. Just like bingo online the principles were essentially the same in this first incarnation. Numbered squares on a card and a bag full of wooden chips that had been numbered were drawn out one at a time and marked off by the player as they were called out. The only real difference between this form of the game and bingo online is that now it is possible to play the game without needing to leave your own home.

The great appeal of bingo is its social nature so it would be reasonable to question how bingo online can be effective in recreating this important aspect to the game when you are sitting in front of a private computer. The social aspect of bingo is what attracts the millions of women players that enjoy the game because it creates a great atmosphere of fun and companionship. So how does playing bingo online compare to the experience of the game that you would find in a bingo hall or at your local church.

The software designers and websites that offer bingo online have certainly taken this fact into consideration when designing a version of the game for the Internet. Realising the importance of the social networking aspect of bingo online most sites offer chat rooms that you can enter while you are playing. So that you can chat to fellow bingo online players in the same way that you would if you were sitting at a table beside someone. There is even a whole abbreviated shorthand language developing amongst bingo online players, “WTG” or “way to go” is a common term that you will find when a player is congratulating someone on a bingo win.

But considering that most bingo players, approximately 70%, are over the age of 35 is this world of chat rooms and bingo online really going to beat the feeling of playing in a roomful of people. Possibly not, but perhaps it provides a way to introduce younger players to the game, which does carry a stigma being a game for oldies. Bingo online is a much faster game, which is going to appeal to a younger, faster more demanding generation who have been drip-fed high-tech, quick paced video games. But bingo online also provides a way for people who are not so mobile or in good health to still play their favourite game.

Unlike a lot of other games, the major focus for bingo players seems to be on having fun. It is not a game where the focus is on the money as much as say poker. For this reason there are a huge number of sites where you can play bingo online for free. You don’t have to deposit any money and you are simply there to have fun. So even though bingo online may seem like it is missing some of the elements of its land-based counterpart, upon closer interrogation there are still many of the elements that make bingo the popular game it is.

What is Bingo

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Bingo has been an extremely popular form of gambling for many years and decades. Betting on the famous bingo card reached its peak in the UK in the 1970s and then after a slight dip in popularity, it is now experiencing a mini renaissance.

Online gambling has heralded the introduction of the online bingo casino. Sites devoted to what has often been seen as one of the “lighter” gambling games, offer the clients a world of online bingo along with special competitions, games and a unique social atmosphere.

This social atmosphere is what is critical. One’s image of gambling does indeed comprise of elderly ladies crowded into a bingo hall with their slippers each week and playing for pitifully low amounts of cash. Today, however the bingo world is changing. It is becoming more and more popular with the younger generation, although it should be said that the most predominant group of bingo players tend to be single, middle-aged women.

That aside, the game is great fun for all ages. However, people should not fall into the trap of thinking that playing and winning a game of bingo is dull. If you have several cards in front of you, a study in the UK has shown that the actions of checking all the numbers on your cards with the corresponding ones called and in the time before the next call is made can improve your reflexes and help keep your mind active and strong.

Betting on bingo is wrongly often seen as a safe way to gamble. On the contrary, there is no such thing, unless limits are set and respected. Your can lose just as much money playing bingo for long enough as on any other game. A bingo gambling hall is no more of an easier place to have to pay a gambling debt than a ritzy Las Vegas casino. It is the same for playing bingo online. Whereas, like other online gambling games, casinos will often offer you the option of playing bingo for free, just to familiarise yourself with the game, when you pay money you are accepting the element of risk and the possibility, if not likelihood that you may lose.

The true origin of bingo dates back as far as the mid 16th century and is connected, strangely enough to the unification of Italy in 1530. This unification saw the introduction of a National lottery system, known as “Lo Giuoco del Lotto d’Italia” held each week. Interestingly, this lottery is today a major source of income to the government, contributing over 75 million dollars each year to the budget.

It was the French who developed a passion for “Le Lotto”, as it became known and they adapted their own version of the game that strikes a strong resemblance with today’s version of bingo. Three horizontal and nine vertical rows formed the basis of the card and players would cover their numbers as they were drawn until an entire horizontal row was covered – hence the winner.

Picture the scene. It’s 1929 and a weary and stressed toy salesman by the name of Edwin S. Lowe is driving to Jacksonville, Georgia to prepare for some appointments. Soon after starting his own toy company a year earlier, the market crashed and Mr Lowe’s prospects were looking very bleak indeed.

Before arriving in Jacksonville, Lowe decided to cheer himself up by stopping off at a country carnival, being a night early for his appointments. Only one carnival booth was open and very crowded. The excitement seemed to be generated by a game that was a variation of Lotto, known as Beano. A horseshoe table was covered with numbered cards and beans. Every time a pitchman pulled a wooden disk from an old cigar box and called the number on it, the players reached for a bean and covered the corresponding number on their card, if they had it. When they had totally covered a line, either diagonally, vertically or horizontally, they had to shout Beano! They then received a doll.

Lowe wanted to play, but the game was too popular and no seats were available. What he did notice though was that all the players seemed to be addicted to the game. The pitchman was not able to close and had to eventually chase the players away at 3:00am. The pitchman had apparently picked the game of Lotto in Germany and decided to adapt and bring it to the United States and to rename it Beano. The success of the game on the carnival circuit proved to be highly lucrative.

Back in New York, Lowe invited some friends to his apartment and introduced them to the game. The tension seemed palpable. One time, a player became close to winning and was getting more and more excited. When her final number was called she jumped up in a fit of ecstasy and in all her excitement got herself tongue-tied. Instead of shouting Beano she spat out “Bingo!” Lowe would later describe the “sense of elation” he experienced when he heard her cry. He knew from that moment he was going to introduce this game to the public and name it “Bingo”.

Hold`em Poker Rules

Posted In: . By Chief Cyber Picks

Unfortunately, there is no universal set of rules for texas hold em poker. Many individual rules are standard but a sea of nebulous calls still need to be made. In general opinion, the most reliable source for rules questions is and will always be the rules provided by the Tournament Directors Association. The TDA is a group that meets exclusively to expand and update the rules for poker. Here's a verbatim copy of what they presented to every player in the 2004 World Series of Poker:

The 2004 World Series of Poker TDA Rules:

1. Floor people are to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. Unusual circumstances can, on occasion, dictate that the technical interpretation of the rules be ignored in the interest of fairness. The floor person's decision is final.

2. Chip race rule: When it is time to color-up chips, they will be raced off with a maximum of one chip going to any player. The chip race will always start in the No. 1 seat. A player cannot be raced out of a tournament. In the event that a player has only one chip left, the regular race procedure will take place. If that player loses the race, he will be given one chip of the smallest denomination still in play.

3. Odd chips: The odd chip(s) will go to the high hand. In flop games, when there are two or more high hands or two or more low hands, the odd chip(s) will go to the left of the button. In stud-type games, the odd chip will go to the high card by suit. There will be an exception to this rule: An attempt will be made in identical hand situations to split the pot as evenly as possible: Example - a wheel in Omaha/8.

4. Side pots: Each side pot will be split as a separate pot. They will not be mixed together before they are split.

5. Calling for the clock procedures: Once a reasonable amount of time has passed and a clock is called for, a player will be given one minute to make a decision. If action has not been taken by the time the minute is over, there will be a 10-second countdown. If a player has not acted on his hand by the time the countdown is over, the hand will be dead.

6. Dead Button: Tournament play will use a dead button.

7. Penalties: A penalty MAY be invoked if a player exposes any card with action pending, if a card(s) goes off the table, if soft-play occurs, or similar incidents take place. Penalties WILL be invoked in cases of abuse, disruptive behavior, or similar incidents.

8. A player must be in their seat by the time all players have complete hands in order to have a live hand. Players must be at the table to call time. In stud-type games, the forced low hand will be immediately dead if the player is not there to act on his hand at the time he is required to put money in the pot (the minimum bring-in will be posted and the hand will be killed).

9. All cards will be turned face up once a player is all in and all action is complete.

10. If a player puts in a raise of 50 percent or more of the previous bet, he will be required to make a full raise. The raise will be exactly the minimum raise allowed.

11. In limit games, an oversized chip will be constituted to be a call if the player does not announce the raise. In no-limit, an oversized chip before the flop is a call; after the flop, an oversized chip by the initial bettor put in the pot will constitute the size of the bet. In pot-limit and no-limit, if a player states raise and throws in an oversized chip, the raise will be the maximum amount allowable up to the size of that chip.

12. The one-player-to-a-hand rule will be enforced.

13. Tournament and satellite seats will be randomly assigned.

14. The English-only rule will be enforced in the United States during the play of hands.

15. A player who wants to use a cellular phone must step away from the table.

16. There will be no foreign chips on the table except for a maximum of one card cap.

17. Deck changes will be on the dealer push or limit changes or as prescribed by the house. Players may not ask for deck changes.

18. When time has elapsed in a round and a new round is announced, the new limits apply to the next hand. A hand has begun with the first riffle.

19. A player may not miss a hand. If a player announces the intent to rebuy before the first card is dealt, that player is playing behind and is obligated to make the rebuy.

20. Players must keep their highest denomination chips visible at all times.

21. Verbal declarations as to the content of a player's hand are not binding; however at management's discretion, any player deliberately miscalling his hand may be penalized.

22. No rabbit hunting is allowed.

23. A player who intentionally dodges his blind(s) when moving from a broken table will forfeit the blind(s) and/or incur a penalty. The money will be put into the next pot and will be considered dead money.

24. All chips must be visibly displayed at all times. Players may not have tournament chips in their pockets at any time. A player who has chips in his pocket will forfeit the chips. The forfeited chips will be taken out of play from the tournament.

25. Moving players: In flop games, players will be moved from the big blind to the worst position.
